Saphron backs Protect Our VOICES Act in WA
As an organizational member of the Washington Voting Justice Coalition, we’re supporting the call for ranked choice voting across Washington state.
SAPHRON ADVOCACY
Today, January 13, 2026 at 1:30pm PST, the WA House State Government & Tribal Relations Committee will hold a hearing on HB 2210, a piece of legislation advancing ranked choice voting statewide across Washington. Last legislative session, this proposal failed to pass. This time, it must pass to best represent WA residents. RCV would allow for more viable players in each election, and hence more education justice candidates as well.
Saphron Initiative has registered its organizational support of the bill in the legislative record and we’re determined to ensure it makes it to the house floor. For Saphron’s Washington state friends and allies, we’ll need your full-fledged support to draw attention to this bill and the benefits of RCV for Washingtonians and Americans at-large.
We've supported other core pro-democracy bills in the past in conjunction with WVJC, including HB 1146, Ballot Access in Jails, and HB 1916, Protecting Registered Voters, and now its time to support RCV. Elections that use Ranked-Choice Voting (RCV) have been shown to encourage positive campaigning, elect more diverse leaders, and empower voters to vote their conscience. The Washington VOICES Act will make sure that all communities can opt-in to Ranked-Choice Voting.
